The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board has a message for prospective visitors with a new “Everyone Is Welcome” campaign.
According to the LA Times, “Travel industry experts say they fear that President Donald Trump’s [travel] bans have sent the message that the U.S. — home to a $2.1-trillion travel industry — isn’t open to all tourists.” This minute and half video pushes back against that notion, giving viewers a glimpse at the diverse faces walking the streets of LA.
From Walt Disney Concert Hall to Venice Beach to the colorful art murals that painted across the facades of buildings throughout the city, the campaign aims to assure would-be tourists that LA welcomes YOU. “Diversity and inclusivity have always been cornerstones of Los Angeles culture, but there has never been a more crucial time to reinforce these points,” said Ernest Wooden Jr., chief executive of Discover Los Angeles, the agency assigned with marketing LA as a travel destination.
